A Pause… and a Return
There is something deeply musical about silence.
In Carnatic music, we celebrate the aarohana—the ascent, the rise, the movement forward. But just as important is the avarohana—the descent, the pause, the return inward.
Over the past months, I found myself in an avarohana.
Not a silence of absence, but a silence of absorption.
Away from listening and writing, yet closer than ever to the essence of what this space stands for—music and the quiet inner journeys they inspire.
