Superb concert it was.. ONe of the best instrumental duets i heard in recent times. great imagination. Dr.Manjunath and Dr.Jayanthi performed as if they are playing together for many years ! perfect co ordination of the highest class. really out of the world. karahara priya and nasika bhooshini raga alapane were the highlight of the concert. passage by passage, melody by melody, they built the raga in an out standing manner. every one in the packed auditorium felt the real grandeur of the classicism in these out standing musicians performances. I wish more of this combination.
ReplyDeleteThani by Arjun sir and Anantha krishnan was in a different class. Magnificient display of mastery over the layam ...
one beautiful concert to remember for quite a long time...
Indeed. I have heard Kumaresh and Jayanthi Kumaresh duet. Its indeed a treat to listen and watch the camaraderie they show on the stage. At any point you will never feel that they have learnt from 2 different tutelage . The blending is perfect !!
